SpecFlow 
Premium self-leveling underlayment
SpecFlow is a cement-based, non-shrinking, self-leveling floor underlayment designed for interior use. This single-component product produces a smooth subfloor that can be feather edged and is compatible with adhesives for carpet and tile. Just mix SpecFlow with water, pour or pump, and it will seek its own level to produce a smooth, flat hard surface.

- SpecFlow, when properly mixed, produces a flowable underlayment with a flow time of 20 minutes at 70 degrees F.
Application
Surface Preparation
- Cleaning the Surface: Remove dirt, grease, oil, asphalt, paint, curing compounds, and loose materials.
- Concrete surface: Should be profiled to a minimum CSP#3, with shot blasting preferred.
- Priming: Apply SpecPrime at 100-150 sq. ft. per gallon using a brush or broom (not a roller) to ensure even coverage.
- Porous surfaces: May require a second application. Allow SpecPrime to dry completely before applying SpecFlow.
Mixing and Application
- Mixing SpecFlow:
- Start with 4 quarts of water in a mixing container, then add one 50-pound bag of SpecFlow.
- Use a blending paddle attached to a heavy-duty drill (650 rpm) and mix for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
- For extended applications, add 25 pounds of clean 3/8″ pea gravel per 50 pounds of SpecFlow during the last minute of mixing.
- Application Instructions:
- For interior floors: Pour SpecFlow over the primed substrate, spreading it with a long-handled spreader or pump it for larger areas. SpecFlow self-levels and requires no troweling.
- It can be applied from a feather edge up to 2″ thick, and up to 5″ with pea gravel. Typically supports foot traffic within 2 to 4 hours, depending on conditions.
Finishing/Curing
- Finishing: SpecFlow self-levels and requires no grinding or sanding for a smooth finish.
- Curing: The product is self-curing under most conditions.
Packaging
Available in 50 lb. bags, with coverage approximately 24 sq.-ft. at 1/4 inch thickness.
Shelf Life
SpecFlow offers a 12-month shelf life when stored properly in a cool, dry location.
Test Data
- Set Time: SpecFlow has an initial set time of 50 minutes and a final set time of 80 minutes at 70°F.
- Compressive Strength: It achieves 3000 psi in 1 day, with strength increasing to 5500 psi by 28 days.
- Bond Strength: After 14 days with SpecPrime, it exhibits a bond strength of 1000 psi.
- Flexural Strength: At 28 days, it achieves a flexural strength of 1150 psi.
- Yield/Density: Each bag yields .50 cubic feet, with a density of 125 pounds per cubic foot.
