Form Seasoning WB
Water-based treatment for new aluminum forms
Form Seasoning WB is a water-based solution specifically formulated to season new aluminum forms. It oxidizes the surface of new aluminum forms, preparing them for optimal use. Proper seasoning of aluminum forms is essential to minimize the chemical sticking that can occur with fresh concrete.
- Available in a matte finish
- Excellent blush resistance in damp areas
- Provides a totally clear membrane for new or old concrete for improved durability
- Will not yellow under ultraviolet exposure
- Dust proofs concrete with a tough, durable film
- Seals all concrete surfaces, providing a glossy appearance and easier cleanup
Application
- Ensure forms are clean and free from dirt, hardened concrete, or other foreign matter.
- Best results are achieved when air and form temperatures are above 70°F, although it can be used at temperatures as low as 40°F.
- Apply Form Seasoning WB using a sprayer, roller, or brush. For stacked forms, spray on side rails, lay the forms face up on the ground, and apply the product to the point of rejection (typically 300 sq. ft./gal).
- Watch for uniform bubbling, which indicates proper reaction. Average reaction time is 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on form temperature.
- Keep the surface moist; do not let the product dry on the forms. Use a light mist of water or more Form Seasoning WB if necessary.
- Remove the product with a hose or low-pressure sprayer (100 psi or lower). High-pressure washing may disturb the newly formed oxides.
- After drying, the forms will appear dull and almost grey. If shiny areas persist, a second application may be necessary.
- Once dry, apply a quality reactive release agent like Spec Strip to ensure a clean release.
