SpecPoxy 2000 LPL
ASTM 881 compliant hi-mod, LPL, medium viscosity epoxy
SpecPoxy 2000 LPL is a two-component, long pot life, multi-purpose, high-modulus, moisture-tolerant epoxy bonding adhesive. This medium-viscosity, solvent-free bonder is designed for a variety of structural bonding applications and meets the requirements of ASTM C881, Types I, II, IV, & V, grade 2, classes B&C.
- Long open time allows for extended workability.
- Can be used for bonding overlays.
- Suitable for both fresh and hardened concrete.
- Effective for gravity filling of concrete cracks.
Application
- Bonds fresh concrete to hardened concrete.
- Anchors steel to fresh concrete.
- Used for gravity filling cracks in concrete.
- VOC content is 0 grams per liter, emphasizing its environmental safety.
Mixing Instructions
- Premix each component separately, then mix two parts of Part A with one part of Part B for three minutes using a low-speed drill.
- Ensure all materials are at least 40°F prior to mixing and installation.
Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean and structurally sound, free from oil, grease, dirt, and other contaminants.
- Recommended methods include abrasive blast cleaning and mechanical removal.
- Ensure drilled holes are cleaned out with a cylindrical bristle brush and oil-free compressed air.
Application Techniques
- Bonding: Apply at a rate of 80 sq ft per gallon, approximately 20 mils in thickness.
- Patching: To create a mortar, mix one part SpecPoxy 2000 LPL with one to four parts clean, dry silica sand. First, apply a prime coat of the neat mixed epoxy before the mortar.
Packaging
- Available in 1 gallon units, 3 gallon units, and 15 gallon units.
Shelf Life
- Store in original, tightly closed containers in a clean, dry area. Properly stored, the shelf life is two years from the date of manufacture.
