SpecLevel PCT
Self-Leveling Polishable Concrete Topping
SpecLevel PCT is a premium, cement-based, self-leveling, and polishable concrete topping designed to achieve an architectural “salt & pepper” finish when polished. Ideal for creating a dense, hard surface, SpecLevel PCT can be diamond polished in as little as 24 hours after application. This product is formulated for easy application, providing a smooth, durable, and wearable surface that dries to a light concrete gray and is receptive to integral color or stains.
- Self-leveling and pumpable, no troweling needed.
- Achieves a “salt & pepper” finish when polished, enhancing aesthetic appeal.
- Suitable for both interior and exterior applications across a variety of traffic conditions.
- Can be applied in thicknesses ranging from a minimum of 3/8” to 1.5” and up to 5” with the addition of pea gravel.
- Accepts foot traffic within 3 to 4 hours, depending on environmental conditions.
Application
Surface Preparation:
- Surface preparation should follow ACI standards, removing all contaminants and achieving a minimum CSP #4 profile, with shot blasting preferred.
- Prime surfaces with SpecPoxy 1000 for optimal adhesion, broadcasting dry sand onto the wet epoxy to refusal before applying SpecLevel PCT.
- Mix SpecLevel PCT with water (7 pints per 50 lb bag for standard flow) using a low speed drill or helix mixer, adjusting water amount for desired consistency.
- For extended applications, incorporate 15 pounds of clean 3/8” pea gravel per 50 pounds of SpecLevel PCT during the final minute of mixing.
Installation:
- Spread SpecLevel PCT over the substrate using a long-handled spreader or gauge rake. The product is also suitable for pump applications, offering a self-leveling property that requires no troweling.
- It can be extended with pea gravel for deeper applications, ensuring versatility across a range of project requirements.
- SpecLevel PCT will self-level within 20 minutes at 70°F, and can support foot traffic in 2-4 hours, dependent on site-specific conditions.
Shelf Life
Unopened bags have a shelf life of 12 months when stored properly in a cool, dry area.
