Silane-Siloxane solvent-based penetrating water repellent

SpecShield SB is a 100% reactive, solvent-borne silane siloxane sealer. This clear, penetrating, breathable water repellent is designed for use on horizontal/vertical, interior/exterior, above grade concrete or masonry surfaces. SpecShield SB penetrates the surface and bonds directly with the substrate, which results in a surface that is highly resistant to both moisture and salt attack. SpecShield SB helps protect concrete and masonry surfaces, decks, pavements, parking structures, ramps, bridges, marine platforms etc. against the corrosive effects of de-icing salts, moisture and weathering to prevent spalling and deterioration of concrete structures.

Application

SpecShield SB is perfect for protecting a wide array of concrete and masonry surfaces against environmental elements that lead to damage and wear. Its application extends to commercial and industrial environments, including but not limited to decks, pavements, parking lots, and marine infrastructures.

Application Instructions: Application via a low-pressure, non-atomizing sprayer is recommended for best results. Coverage rates vary based on surface porosity, with a general guideline provided for different finishes. It’s essential that new concrete surfaces are dry and well-cured (minimum 14 days) before application. The substrate must be clean, free from moisture, and other contaminants to ensure effective penetration. Always test a small area first to confirm the desired outcome.

Cleaning

Old concrete and masonry should be thoroughly cleaned of any existing sealers, dirt, or contaminants using SpecChem Orange Peel citrus cleaner or similar methods. Ensuring the substrate is dry and absorbent is crucial for the effective application of SpecShield SB.
