SpecSilane 40
40% solids penetrating silane sealer
SpecSilane 40 is a 40% solids, 100% reactive silane sealer designed for use on interior and exterior, above-grade concrete or masonry surfaces. This clear, penetrating, breathable water repellent is highly effective against moisture and salt, making it ideal for protecting concrete and masonry surfaces such as decks, pavements, parking structures, ramps, bridges, and marine platforms from the corrosive effects of de-icing salts, moisture, and weathering.
- Chloride Screen: Provides excellent protection against chloride penetration.
- Water Repellency: Offers superior water repellency while maintaining the substrate’s breathability.
- Environmentally Friendly: VOC compliant with less than 600 grams per liter, promoting a safer application environment.
- Durable Protection: Reduces the effects of freeze-thaw cycling and weathering on concrete structures, ensuring long-lasting protection for new and existing surfaces.
- Aesthetic Preservation: The sealer is colorless and non-yellowing, maintaining the natural appearance of the substrate.
Application
- New Concrete: Should be well cured (28 days minimum) and free of all curing residues, dust, debris, oil, and other contaminants. Surfaces must be absorptive to allow penetration of the SpecSilane 40.
- Application Method: Apply using a roller, brush, or low pressure sprayer at a rate determined by surface porosity:
- Porous surfaces: 100-125 ft²/gal
- Broom finish: 100-150 ft²/gal
- Smooth concrete: 150-200 ft²/gal
- Old Concrete and Masonry: Remove any previously applied sealers and contaminants with pressure washing and SpecChem Citrus Cleaner or other appropriate cleaning measures.
