Versa Etch Extender is a VOC compliant, water-based, coating designed to be used with Versa Etch Surface Retarders When properly applied, Versa Etch Extender will help create a uniform etched surface and will extend the removal time of Versa Etch several hours depending on application conditions.

Versa Etch Extender is compatible with all Versa Etch Surface Retarder depths.

  • Dry time: Approximately 4 hours at 70°F. Dry time may be extended in cool and or humid conditions.

Application

Versa Etch Extender should be applied immediately after the Versa Etch Surface Retarder has dried. It is removed along with the Versa Etch Surface Retarder. A spray application is preferred, with recommended temperatures above 40°F. For best results, ensure the application area is clean, and use a garden hose with a stiff-bristle broom or high-pressure water to remove the retarder.

Coverage: Approximately 400 ft² per gallon.

Available in 5-gallon pails (18.9L).

Shelf Life

Versa Etch Extender has a shelf life of 1 year when stored in the original, tightly closed container. Protect it from contaminants such as water and dirt.

Uses

Versa Etch Extender is ideal for extending the working time of Versa Etch Surface Retarders, especially in situations where conditions require extended drying and removal times, such as in faster-setting concrete mix designs or hot weather applications.

Standards

  • Compliant with U.S. and Canadian VOC regulations, including Federal EPA, OTC, LADCO, SCAQMD, and CARB.
  • VOC content: 100 g/l.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with warm, soapy water before the product dries. Once dried, use SpecChem Berry Clean or Orange Peel for cleaning.
