SC Precision Grout

Non-shrink non-metallic grout

SC Precision Grout is a high-flow, non-shrink, non-metallic, cement-based grout engineered for precision grouting applications. Its formula accommodates a wide range of grouting applications, from plastic to fluid consistencies, through controlled, positive expansion. It’s designed for effective load bearing in high-flow precision grouting tasks.

  • High flow with early high compressive strength.
  • Reduces project downtime.
  • Controlled positive expansion ensures optimal load bearing.
  • Non-metallic and non-corrosive.
  • Versatile for pouring or pumping.
  • Excellent freeze/thaw resistance.
  • Can be extended with pea stone for deep applications.
  • Thermal shock resistant.
  • USDA accepted.

Application

For effective application, ensure all surfaces are clean of dirt, oil, and any loose or foreign material. Metal surfaces in contact with the grout should be free of rust, oil, grease, and other contaminants that could impair bonding. Concrete surfaces must be sound and roughened to enhance bond strength. If possible, the surface should be saturated surface dry (SSD) for at least an hour before grout application, with all excess water removed. Bolts, base plates, and equipment should be securely fastened and stable before grout application. Materials and surfaces should be maintained between 50°F and 80°F for optimal grout performance, with heating or cooling applied as needed to manage temperature variations.

Mixing

For small batches, grout can be mixed by hand until lump-free. For larger volumes or continuous pours, use a mortar mixer with rubber-tipped blades or a suitable grout pump, mixing for a minimum of five minutes. Begin with the minimum water requirement, adding water to the mixer first, then the grout powder gradually. Adjust the water volume to achieve the desired consistency, mixing thoroughly for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Avoid mixing more grout than can be used within 40 minutes.

Use

SC Precision Grout is ideal for both interior and exterior grouting of architectural and structural precast concrete components, structural column base plates, machinery bases, anchoring bolts, cable anchorages, dowels, bearing pads, keyway joints, and crane rails. It’s applicable in environments requiring high-quality engineered grout, such as power plants, steel mills, paper mills, oil refineries, food plants, and water treatment facilities.

Packaging

Available in 50 lb bags, yielding approximately 0.45 cu. ft. in fluid condition. With a 50% extension using 3/8″ pea stone, yield increases to approximately 0.59 cu. ft.

Shelf Life

Should be stored in a cool, dry place. When stored properly in its original, unopened container, its shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture.
