Surface Shine Gray
25% solids solvent-based cure & seal (ASTM C309 compliant)
Surface Shine Gray is a VOC compliant acrylic polymer engineered to cure, seal, harden, and dustproof freshly placed concrete and improve the wearability and durability of aged concrete surfaces. Surface Shine Gray is a light gray pigmented acrylic sealer that dries to a medium to light gray finish.
- Minimizes efflorescence
- Beautifies and protects concrete and exposed aggregate
- Will not yellow under extreme UV exposure
- Acts as a binder to minimize aggregate pop-out
- Protects sealed surfaces from damaging effects of de-icing salts and acid rain
- Provides resistance to abrasion and a wide range of chemicals and oils
Application
Surface Preparation
- For optimal adhesion and performance, the concrete substrate should be free of contaminants and either clean and dry or slightly damp. Dense, hard-troweled concrete should be profiled or roughened to enhance adhesion.
Application Instructions
- Ready to use; do not dilute. Apply with a sprayer for uniform thin films, which is the preferred method for best results. Apply two thin coats, allowing the first coat to thoroughly dry before applying the second. Never apply one heavy coat to avoid puddles.
- Coverage for curing: 300 – 400 sq ft/gal.
- Coverage for dustproofing and sealing: 400 – 600 sq ft/gal.
For New Concrete:
- Apply as soon as surface water has evaporated and the surface can be worked without being marred. Apply in a uniform coat, and for enhanced protection and finish, a second coat can be applied at 400 sq ft per gallon.
For Existing Concrete:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, or damp, and free from stains, oil, grease, dirt, and incompatible coatings. Application will enhance the appearance of existing concrete, brick, or terrazzo floors, making them brighter and easier to maintain.
Packaging
- Available in 5 gallon pails.
Shelf Life
Two years from the date of manufacture when stored in original tightly closed containers. Avoid accumulation of water, dirt, or other contaminants.
Standards
- Meets ASTM C-1315 and ASTM C 309, Type 1, Classes A & B.
- VOC content less than 700 g/L, complying with EPA limits and regional standards for curing and sealing compounds.
