E-Cure
Water-based concrete curing compound
E-Cure® is a cutting-edge, clear concrete curing compound that addresses compatibility issues with flooring adhesives. It is designed for spray application to cure, harden, and dustproof concrete, ensuring proper strength development. E-Cure® creates a temporary membrane to enhance the concrete’s durability and is compatible with ASTM C309 Type 1D, Class A & B standards for moisture retention on hard-troweled surfaces. It may also contribute to LEED credits.
- Maintains the concrete’s natural color without yellowing.
- Odorless, non-flammable, and compliant with VOC regulations.
- Does not impede the adhesion of secondary coatings, toppings, or concrete-specific adhesives.
- The cure membrane vanishes within 3-5 days.
- Offers resistance to acids, oils, greases, salts, and tire marks.
- Approved for use in USDA facilities and certified for potable water structures.
- Incorporates fugitive dye and has zero VOC emissions.
- Meets NSF/ANSI 61 performance requirements and has been independently tested for adhesion compliance with tile council standards for thin-set mortar and vinyl composition tile (VCT).
Application
Apply E-Cure® after the final finishing and once bleed water has receded, using a sprayer, brush, or roller for application, with spraying yielding the best results. Application temperatures should range from 40°F to 90°F. To avoid residue or white crystals from over-application, immediate cleaning with water and a squeegee is recommended. Metal, glass, painted, and brick surfaces should be protected from E-Cure® contact.
Packaging
Available in 55-gallon drums and 5-gallon pails.
Shelf Life
When stored in its original, sealed container, E-Cure® has a shelf life of two years from the manufacture date.
Coverage
For curing, hardening, and dustproofing, coverage varies by surface finish, with approximate rates provided. For hard troweled finishes, coverage is between 600-800 sq ft/gal, and for broom or float finishes, 300-400 sq ft/gal. Rough finishes have a rate of 200-300 sq ft/gal, and vertical surfaces, 400-500 sq ft/gal. The coverage can extend to 1000 sq-ft per gal on highly polished surfaces using a micro-fiber applicator.
Standards
SpecChem warrants that E-Cure® is free from manufacturing defects and complies with LEED V.4 requirements, as well as ASTM C 309 Type 1D, Class A & B standards. The warranty is limited to the replacement of defective products.
